Nurse's Corner

Welcome to the Nurse's Corner for China Grove Middle School.

Our school nurse is Wendy Marchinko, RN, BSN, NBCSN.  She can be contacted via email at or on her work cell phone at 704-213-3820.  Mrs. Marchinko is at CGMS on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  She also serves Salisbury High and Bostian Elementary Schools.

Summer Update from Nurse Marchinko:

To ensure that your child has a healthy and safe start to next school year, if your child has been prescribed emergency medications such as an Epi-Pen (Allergies), Rescue Inhaler (Asthma), Diastat (Seizures) or Glucagon (Diabetes) the following will be needed.

  • Emergency medication with the pharmacy label attached
  • Medication authorization form signed by parent and prescribing doctor
  • Applicable "Emergency Action Plan"

Any medicine brought into the schools whether it is prescription or over the counter, needs to have a signed consent form on file with the school. OTC medicines only need parental signature for middle and high school students. Medication consent forms and action plans are available at school. Medication forms may be found on the RSS Website.

If your child has another health condition that needs to be addressed here at school, please let us know by contacting me at either (704) 213-3820 or

Have a great summer!

China Grove Middle continues to be a leader in Rowan-Salisbury Schools.  All students in RSS were charged to complete the Summer Reading Challenge.  157 students boldly completed the challenge representing 1/3 of our student body.  CGMS clearly out paced any other school in RSS.  Students who completed the challenge were provided with a T-shirt to celebrate their accomplishment.
